Math – Ms.
Burgess: Students in the Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue classes are
starting a unit this week on Decimals. The
Geography
– Mr. Wolf: It was a pleasure to meet all of the parents that attended
Open House. This week we have a fun activity on latitude and longitude and
continue using the global grid. We will be learning about map projections and
how there are a variety of ways to show locations. Last Friday was our autumnal
equinox. Be sure to tell your family what autumnal equinox means and have a
great Autumn!
English – Mrs. Rezendes: This week we will begin reading a novel, So
Far From the Bamboo Grove. It is a riveting, true-story of a family's
escape from
Strategic
Science – Mrs.
Yule: We are
preparing for our first major test in Science.
Next week on Tuesday, students will be assessed on their knowledge of
matter. We will be reviewing this week,
and a study guide will be provided. By
the end of next week, I will send home “grade to date” messages after I have
graded the tests.
