Math – Ms. Burgess: The Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue classes are working on Operations with Integers and will take a quiz on Thursday. The Orange class will take a quiz tomorrow on Operations with Rational Numbers. The third Math Learning Log of the term is due tomorrow, 12/21. Have a wonderful week! :)

 

Reading – Mrs. Jitiam: LOGS-Students need to be reading and logging times and pages nightly and writing a well-thought out response weekly. This week's log is due Thursday. There will be no log required over the holidays. However, the next big project, a Novel-Think-Tac-Toe book project, is due January 9th. Students have the project outline, page 4 of their binders, and may begin it early.

 

Geography – Mr. Wolf:  We completed the Africa country quizzes last week. This week we are looking at the effects of colonialism in Africa. There are no major projects due. Have a warm winter break.

 

English – Mrs. Rezendes:  We have been working diligently on our persuasive essays. The rough draft is due tomorrow; we will be working on revision techniques in class. The final draft is not due until Wednesday, January 4th. However, students are welcome to turn in their final draft on Thursday before vacation for 5 extra-credit points. :) Have a wonderful break!

 

Science – Mrs. Yule: Students are exploring Earth’s past this week.  After learning about the different eras and periods that make up geologic history, students will construct time lines with a scale of 1 cm = 10 million years!  How long will that time line be? 

 

Team News: 

TEACHER WISH LIST. During the holiday season, we ask that any money or time you would normally spend on teacher gifts be directed to the Toys for Tots collection, a charity of your choice, or classroom supplies such as paper towels, Lysol wipes, tissues, or pencils.  We appreciate the thoughtful gesture of remembering teachers at the holidays, but feel that supporting these other causes is the best gift for our community.
