Math – Ms. Burgess: Happy New Year! The Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue classes are beginning a unit this week on Solving Equations. The Orange class is wrapping up chapter 5, focusing on Rational Numbers. The final Math Learning Log of the term is due on Wednesday, 1/18. Have a productive week! :)

 

Reading – Mrs. Jitiam: Novel-Think-Tac-Toe projects are due on Monday January 9th. We will be in the computer lab this Wednesday and Thursday to work on them. However, students will need to complete the three parts a home.

 

Geography – Mr. Wolf:  Welcome back! I hope everyone had a nice vacation. This week we will be having a Geography Bee in class. We will also be wrapping up the continent of Africa. Have a great week!

 

English – Mrs. Rezendes:  The final draft of the persuasive essay is due tomorrow (although some students have turned it in early). In addition, this week we will begin to read a new novel, The Misfits.

 

Science – Mrs. Yule: Welcome back for 2012!  We will continue exploring the changes that shape earth.  There will be a quiz on weathering and erosion on Friday.  Students will spend Wednesday in the computer lab searching for information on types of weathering, erosion, and glaciers.
